No baby yet. Just thought I'd clarify, as I have had more than one friend call and say, "Oh my God, you answered!" They just assumed that since I hadn't emailed/phoned back in my usual 24-hour delay, I must be at the hospital. This makes me feel good, as it's proof that I am usually a dependable "resonder" to various forms of communication.
Meanwhile, here is an actual conversation I had with a guy in my class:
Me: Didn't our prof say that if we needed to change around the date of the oral exam, we could talk to him about it?
Him: Yeah, I remember that.
Me: RIght -- you were the one who asked him about it during lab.
Him: Yes. I clearly remember him saying something about contacting him to change exam dates.
Me: So I asked him last week if I could still change around the exam date, and he said, "I don't understand... " and then said he had never suggested we could change dates with him if necessary.
Him: Weird. Do you need to take the exam early or something?
Me: Ideally, yeah. But I'm not sure I need to, but I'd like to get it out of the way.
Him: Why do you want to take it early?
Me: Because I'm thinking I might give birth next week, so it just seems better to take it as soon as possible, you know?
Him: Oh... um... yeeeeaaahhh. I can see how that would be a more practical way to go.
But helas. That exam will be Tuesday or Wednesday, TBD on Monday.
In the meantime, I am going to study my tail off for Monday's test. Our prof virtually told us exactly what we'll be tested on, so it's just a question of memorization, memorization, memorization. I don't have much of an excuse for not rocking it (besides being pregnant, of course), so I'm going to do my best to do so.
And in other news: I have a bit of an unhealthy love for "America's Next Top Model." It's Nigel Barker's fault. Please tell me somebody can relate.
Don't worry. ANTP stands for a lot of things I don't believe in (like fashion and contemporary standards of beauty)... but I can't stop watching it. And for me I think it's Nigel + Miss Jay, though Miss Jay is super annoying.
I am SO with you on the 'America's Next Top Model' thing. I watched a lot of it when I was at home ill a few weeks ago and enjoyed it far too much. And yes, part of it was due to the twinkly hotness of Nigel Barker.

um yeah, i can totally relate to the ANTM obsession. i never watched it until i moved to france. now i love it. i think it is nigel barker - he's just plain sexy. last week i found Australia's Top Model show on YouTube and that has been my breastfeeding show (obviously shows i watch while breastfeeding. usually trashy, mindless shows my husband has no desire to watch and thus are perfect for that time). and Jay Manuel is hosting Canada's Next Top Model, although that one is a bit, i don't know, white trashy or something.

Oh, thank God, now I feel so much better about the fact that I just watched the entire 8th season this week. I'd never seen it before, but saw someone mention it on a blog, and figured that after weeks of intense studying for le code, I deserved some mindless TV.
oh, and "merde" pour ton examen, LOL!
I honestly thought nobody would know what I was talking about, and that the few who did would be like, "Seriously, girl, ANTM? C'mon now..."
But you all undoubtedly have my back in this obsession and that makes me happy.
What doesn't make me feel so happy is that they just took down seasons five and six, and I was midway through season five! So only two seasons left to bulldoze my way through instead of FOUR.
I was liking cycle five as I wanted to see if Lisa showed up to a shoot drunk.
(EDITED TO ADD: YAY! Season Five is back! Must have been a temporary blackout. Gotta watch it while it's available. STUDY BREAK! But I've been working for five hours so I deserve it...)
I am also glad to Nigel Barker is officially hot. I like Jay Manuel in that he actually seems sort of down to Earth. Miss J drives me crazy but I suppose you need some flair every once and awhile.
I found out today that Nigel is married. Sigh. He's also 38 and has a son named Jack.

Now I feel like I'm totally missing out, because I've never seen ANTM -- is it really that addictive? I'm super curious now... I'm trying to get my boy to hold off from actually BUYING Season 2 of Desperate Housewives, as a friend of mine has proposed loaning us a copy. He's become obsessed, it's insane!
