Last night, Vegas and I went to see Little Miss Sunshine.
I'm not sure whether I wanted to laugh or to cry (from either/both happiness or/and sadness), but mainly I spent the whole film hoping it would never end. I am hopelessly in love with it, and wish I could have the experience of seeing it again for the first time all over again.
I can't say anything else to do it justice. And that's saying a lot.
When I saw LMS, I cried and laughed all through it. I came out of it and thought, "I don't know what that movie was trying to tell me. I don't need to buy the DVD, but I think I liked it and it was at least worth the $4.50 I paid to see it."
I loved it, too. It was really one of the best cast movies I've seen in a long time (Paul Dano said a lot without uttering a word.)
Srah - I don't think it's worth getting on DVD either. That's why I said I wanted to see it for the first time all over again.
buzzgirl - Yeah - I still don't know which character was my favorite. They were all great.
I loved it, it was exactly what I needed to get me out of the funk I'd been in for the past week or so.
Agreed. I not only loved the movie but I want that bus!
I will never look at Alan Arkin in the same way again.
I also LOVED it. The non-Americans with whom I either watched or discussed it HATED it. The general sentiment was that it was "too easy." Is this a matter of me picking up on subtleties because I'm a cultural insider, or of me being easy?
Wait, don't answer that.
I went to see it last night; I already wanted to see it (I really like Toni Collette and Greg Kinnear in general), but after reading your post the first of the week, I knew I HAD to see it! I thought it was funny and heartbreaking at the same time, somehow just such a true reflection of the world we're living in these days... I really loved it!
Meg - That's just so French. Not liking something because it's "too easy>" It's entertainment. Why does it have to be complicated?
Always Ace - Awesome. I'm glad you enjoyed it and that I had some minor role in that...
